Good morning, Salford!
Did anyone else make it down to Eccles for The Wagon Train last week? There was a great mix of music, art, theatre, dancing and community activities taking over Church Street 🥳
It was great to see Eccles so lively, and there’s plenty more going on across the city this week too. So, let’s get into it!

Salford Everywhere: A City Gathering

Over the past months, award winning artist and filmmaker Matthew Rosier has been documenting the people of Salford as part of a major art project. Over 1,500 Salfordians documented - from pigeon fanciers, NHS workers, and school children to chess players, builders, food bank volunteers, Royal Mail staff and more.
This Friday and Saturday, all of their faces will be projected onto the University of Salford's Maxwell Building at Peel Park. A 45-minute film, shown twice each night, with a live score from local choirs, brass bands and Salford-based composer and DJ AFRODEUTSCHE performing alongside it.
At the same time across the city, the Salford Shopping Centre in Pendleton will be lit up with the same 1,500 faces. This moment captures the spirit of the city through the people who make it.
It is completely free. Gates open at 6pm and shows run at 7:30pm and 8:45pm on both evenings. If getting there is a problem, free coaches are running from Irlam and Walkden on Friday and from Swinton and Eccles on Saturday.
📍Peel Park, Crescent, Salford, M5 4WU
Fri 9th and Sat 10th October. From 6pm (Live shows at 7.30pm & 8.45pm)
This project is part of Salford 100. A love letter to this city and everyone in it.
Restaurant of the week - Treehouse

You know those places you discover and immediately wonder how you hadn’t heard about them sooner? This is one of those.
Two Czech friends decided to open up a cosy little cafe in Lower Broughton, and it has quietly become one of the area’s best spots for brunch. Everything is homemade, and they’ve made sure nobody gets left out, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options all on the menu.
Got a dog? they're welcome. Bringing the baby? No problem. There are highchairs, a changing area and a box of toys for when you need uninterrupted minutes to enjoy your food. Need somewhere to work? they've got free WiFi, a chilled atmosphere and no one judging you for ordering coffee and staying too long.
And if you’re a student, you can get 10% off with a valid student ID. Pancakes definitely taste better when they’re discounted, so Click here to check out their full menu and go see what takes your fancy.

Wild Things at The Lowry is closing soon!

If you have been meaning to take the kids to Wild Things at The Lowry, now is the time. The free children's exhibition closes on Sunday 1st November and October half-term is the perfect window to go.
Wild Things transforms The Lowry's galleries into a hands-on world of animals from children's books and original illustrations from some of the most celebrated names in children's book art. Every young visitor gets a free notebook to write and draw their own animal stories. It is screen-free, imaginative and genuinely lovely.
During half-term week - Saturday 24th October to Sunday 1st November, there are drama sessions, storytelling events, meet-and-greet appearances from Elmer himself and free food for the kids at Lowry Bar & Kitchen.
It’s free to enter and best for children aged seven and under. So click here to pre-book a time slot to avoid disappointment.
