The vision for a new Salford neighbourhood

❝

A brand new affordable neighbourhood could be coming to Swinton.

Plans have been submitted to build 218 new homes off Pendlebury Road in Swinton on the site of the old RMS Toys warehouse. Four apartment blocks and 46 houses arranged around a central pocket park, and if approved, this would become a great new neighbourhood right in the heart of the town.

Nearly 97% (211 of the 218 homes) are proposed for social rent which is a significant number for a city that desperately needs more social housing. And seven more homes would be available through shared ownership.

The homes range from one bedroom apartments to four bedroom houses, every house with its own private garden and all flats with access to shared green space. All 155 parking spaces come with EV charging too.

The site has been sitting there attracting fly-tipping for a long time. If this gets approved, it becomes 218 homes.

Plans are with the council now, so Click here to find out more.

MCR Rocks Family Festival returns to Salford

❝

MCR Rocks Family Festival is back at Clifton Cricket Club this Saturday and it is going to be a long, good day. Running from 12pm all the way through to 10pm, this is a full day of live music, family fun, food, drinks and a funfair. The kind of event that works whether you are bringing the kids or just want a great day out with friends.

Live tribute acts, games and drinks are on throughout the day to keep everyone going. But the headline moment has to be the DJ battle between Bez and Clint Boon. If you know, you know. And If you don’t, trust me, you want to be there for that.

A full day out for the family or a proper Saturday with friends. Either way, get your tickets before they go.
