The Lowry is getting a comedy & art exhibition

❝

The Lowry is hosting a major new exhibition called “Funny People” this November, bringing together contemporary artists and well known comedy names including Harry Hill, Jenny Eclair, Jessica Hynes and Olaf Falafel.

There is also a humorous audio guide by Manchester comedian Edy Hurst, a commissioned performance by Rebecca Moss and a takeover by Manchester comedy collective Fight Club.

The show also aims to explore the many ways comedy can reflect everyday life, challenge our perspectives and make us see familiar things differently.

Whether you're an art enthusiast, a comedy fan or simply someone who enjoys seeing things from a different angle, “Funny People” promises a fresh and entertaining gallery experience.

Restaurant of the week - Las Bombas

❝

This week's restaurant pick is a little gem in Irlam - Las Bombas.

If you haven't been yet, you should definitely put this one on your list. It's the kind of place where you go thinking you'll just have a few bits to eat but you'll find yourself ordering another plate because everything on the table looks too good to ignore.

They serve Latin American-inspired dishes and have their steak night on Wednesdays, live music on Thursdays, and bottomless brunch on Saturdays.

A few items worth trying:

  • Sirloin board

  • Birria toastie

  • Tempura avocado

  • Roast rump of beef

So, if you're looking for somewhere a little different without heading into Manchester city centre, try Las Bombas. Click here to check out their full menu and plan your visit!

The Eccles Artisan Market is back this Sunday

❝

After sell-out editions in March and June, the Eccles Artisan Market is back on Church Street this Sunday.

If you want to pick up something handmade and unique, grab some food and soak up the atmosphere or just have a good walk with the family, this is a great Sunday out. Church Street comes alive on market days and this one is no different.

You get to enjoy street food from different cultures, live music, family activities and free entertainment in the heart of Eccles.
