Good morning, Salford!
We really are living in the future, aren't we? AI is automating our tasks, robots are learning to do our jobs, and apparently flying cars may soon become a thing.
Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for someone to invent an app where i can download a brew ☕ and it appears on my desk in less than 2 seconds. 😀

Have your say on the future of supported housing

What should supported housing in Salford look like over the next decade? The council needs the support of residents to help answer that question.
A four-week consultation has launched on Salford City Council’s proposed Supported and Specialist Housing Strategy, which will shape plans for housing and support services through to 2037.
It covers a wide range of residents, from older people and people with disabilities to those rebuilding their lives after homelessness or domestic abuse.
The aim is to make sure people can find the right home and get the support they need to live as independently as possible, while staying connected to their communities.
Residents, carers, people with lived experience of supported housing and local organisations are being encouraged to share their views. The feedback will help shape the final strategy, expected to go forward for approval in 2027.

New Spanish Restaurant Opens Next Month

The team behind El Gato Negro, one of the most celebrated tapas restaurants in the Manchester and Liverpool are opening a little sister Wine Bar and Kitchen - EL Gatito at MediaCity on 6th November.
El Gatito is a more relaxed, all-day version of the El Gato Negro experience. Spanish-inspired small plates, loaded focaccias, sharing boards and a drinks menu built around wine, beer, cocktails and sangria. They also serve slow-cooked beef short rib, Catalan chorizo, gambas pil pil and manchego churros on the tapas side.
You can enjoy a 3 for £15 offer on selected dishes between 12pm and 4pm Monday to Friday and all day Sunday. Daily happy hour runs from 4pm to 6pm with £5 pints and £5 sangria. The restaurant opens out onto an outdoor terrace which in the summer will be a lovely chill spot.
And before its official launch, there is a free pop-up on 29th October outside the restaurant giving away coffees and bocatas from 11am and tapas and sangria from 2pm - first come, first served. Click here to learn more.

🐹 Pet of the Week: Meet Muffin

Muffin has had a bit of a journey and now needs a place where she feels safe, understood and loved.
She was passed around a few homes after some difficulties getting along with other guinea pigs, but the people who know her best say it’s because she is a strong character who needs the right companion.
She needs a calm and easy going boar or sow who is happy to let her be the boss. And in return, you get one of the most sociable little pets.
She enjoys head strokes for as long as you will give them and will happily stay put for ages if there is dried forage too. However, one important thing to note is Muffin does not like spring greens.
Muffin also needs an indoor setup of at least 5x2 c and c grids, a slow-bond approach with any new piggy pals and no speedy introductions.
If you have the experience and the patience, adopting Muffin will absolutely be worth it. Click here to learn more.
